Pablo Picasso died 50 years ago on April 8, age 91. The occasion is being marked by nearly 50 Picasso-themed exhibitions in the U.S. and Europe and, here, by a selection of past Masterpiece columns, by various authors, that capture the range and restless inventiveness of one of the greatest artists of the 20th century.
