After years of boycotting elections they considered unfair, opposition parties will now field candidates for thousands of posts on Sunday

CARACAS, Venezuela—The Venezuelan opposition has tried everything to oust authoritarian President Nicolás Maduro, from working to trigger a revolt to forcing him out by naming an interim president.

Now there is a new strategy: participating in elections.
