Mississippi State Senate Votes to Remove Confederate Battle Emblem From State Flag






By a 37 to 14 count, the Mississippi State Senate has voted to remove the Confederate battle emblem from its state flag.

The bill will go to Governor Tate Reeves’ desk for signature, which Reeves’ assured on Saturday in a tweet.

Mississippi is the last state in the United States to feature any Confederate emblems on its state flag.
