Trump Says ‘I Wish Her the Best’ After Ruth Bader Ginsburg Treated for Cancer Recurrence

After signing legislation and an executive order that he said will hold China accountable for its oppressive actions against the people of Hong Kong, US President Donald Trump told reporters that he hasn’t spoken with President Xi Jinping and “has no plan to speak to him.”

The legislation and order are part of the Trump administration’s offensive against China for what he calls unfair treatment by the rising Asian superpower, which hid details about the human-to-human transition of the coronavirus.

The almost daily administration broadsides against China come as Trump is defending his response to the virus, despite a surge in COVID-19 cases.

The president also responded to news that Associate Justice Ruth Baden Ginsburg has been hospitalized for treatment for a possible infection after experiencing fever and chills.

“I wish her the absolute best, the president said.

And he said he expects to win the 2020 election, despite many polls show him far behind presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

“I think we have really good poll numbers,” he said.

“They’re not suppression polls. They’re real polls.”
