Black Protesters Deface BLM Mural Outside Trump Tower

Protesters used black paint to deface a Black Lives Matter mural in front of Trump Tower in New York on July 18. They were later detained by police, according to reports.

Videos posted on social media show a woman dumping black paint over the mural in Manhattan while repeatedly saying, “Refund our police.”

“No, we’re not standing with Black Lives Matter. We want our police. Refund our police,” the woman added.

Another woman was also seen protesting in the video, saying: “This demon of Black Lives Matter is going to end today. This is my country.”

Reports said an NYPD officer was injured when he slipped in the paint while trying to detain the protesters.

One of the protesters, Bevelyn Beatty, posted on Facebook saying she and another woman had been released by the New York Police Department after being detained for defacing the mural.

The protesters vandalized another Black Lives Matter mural in Brooklyn later that day.
