Oregon Wildfires: Smoke Turns Morning Sky Orange Near Salem






The sun in Jefferson, Oregon, was blocked out by smoke from forest fires on September 8, casting an orange hue over the small city.

Multiple fires were burning in the state on September 9, leading to similarly eerie spectacles in nearby Salem and other towns.

The blazes have forced evacuations of residents in the Salem area, and local media reported on families making last-minute departures after receiving warnings in early morning hours.
