Dramatic Timelapse Shows California Wildfire Smoke Roll Across Crowley Lake

President Donald Trump is traveling to California on Monday to receive a briefing on the devastating wildfires racing through the region.

The visit comes as crews continue to battle wildfires that have killed at least 35 people, destroyed neighbourhoods and enveloped the West Coast in smoke.

Dramatic timelapse footage of billowing clouds of smoke rolling across the Crowley Lake area showed the rapid spread of one of the fires as it engulfed the area on Sunday.

Warnings of low moisture and strong winds could fan the flames in hard-hit southern Oregon to northern California and last through Tuesday.

Tens of thousands of people have fled their homes as the fast-moving flames turned neighbourhoods to nothing but charred rubble and burned-out cars.
