Trump Dodges Question on Breonna Taylor Grand Jury Decision

Asked to respond to the Kentucky grand jury ruling that brought no charges against Louisville police for the killing of Breonna Taylor during a drug raid gone wrong, U.S. President Donald Trump said, “It’ll all work out.”

Trump made the comments during a White House briefing Wednesday, hours after the ruling came down.

When a reporter asked for his opinion on the decision, Trump dodged the question and instead referred to Kentucky’s Republican Attorney General, Daniel Cameron, who he called “a star” and said made a “really brilliant” statement.

Taylor, an emergency medical worker, was shot multiple times by white officers who entered her home on a no-knock warrant during a narcotics investigation – although state Attorney General Daniel Cameron said Wednesday the investigation showed the officers did announce themselves before entering.

Trump said Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear will call up the national guard to help deal with protests in response to the decision, which Trump said is “a very positive thing and it’ll all work out.”

The president also said he’s “not a fan” of Megan Markle, adding that he wishes “a lot of luck to Harry because he’s going to need it.”

Trump made the remarks in response to a question about Prince Harry and wife Markle urging people to vote on November 3.

In a video message, the Duchess of Sussex called this the ‘most important election of our lifetime.’
