California Firefighters Make Progress Containing Bobcat Fire

California firefighters battling the Bobcat Fire in Los Angeles County brought the overall containment from 17 percent to 38 percent overnight on September 22 into September 23, the LA County Fire Department reported.

The Angeles National Forest said crews used “strategic firing” to link the containment line between Mount Wilson and Hwy 2.

The fire, which burned primarily in the Angeles National Forest northeast of Los Angeles, had scorched more than 113,000 acres by September 23, officials said.
