Stolen Plane Loaded With Drugs Crashes in Guatemala

A plane loaded with drugs crashed in northern Guatemala on Wednesday night after it was stolen from an airfield in Mexico.

Two crew members were killed, according to Guatemalan army reports.

The Hawker 800 aircraft, which was reported stolen from Cuernavaca airport in Mexico, came down in the Alta Verapaz region of northern Guatemala.

The Guatemalan military said the plane had been trying to land on a clandestine airstrip.

The report stated that the bodies of two crew members were found at the site of the crash, as well as weapons and parcels containing illegal drugs.

Guatemalan authorities believe the plane had been stolen and flown to Venezuela.
