Protesters Defy Curfew in Louisville to Demand Justice for Breonna Taylor

Protesters in Louisville, Kentucky, continued Thursday with demonstrators marching for Breonna Taylor after the citywide curfew was extended and went into effect at 9 p.m. local time.

Demonstrators marched through Louisville, where Taylor, a Black woman, was shot multiple times by police who burst into her home on March 13 during a drugs raid that went wrong.

Officials announced a grand jury’s decision not to indict police officers on criminal charges directly related to Taylor’s death.

State Attorney General Daniel Cameron said the officers’ shots that killed Taylor were fired in self-defense.

The FBI is still investigating potential violations of federal law in the case.
