Breonna Taylor Protests Continue in Louisville as Kentucky Authorities Urge Calm

Protests over the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor resumed in Louisville, Kentucky, on Thursday, after prosecutors announced that just one police officer had been indicted in the case – but not on charges involving her death.

Demonstrators marche through Louisville, where Taylor, a Black woman, was shot multiple times by police who burst into her home on March 13 during a drugs raid that went wrong.

Officials announced a grand jury’s decision not to indict police officers on criminal charges directly related to Taylor’s death.

State Attorney General Daniel Cameron said the officers’ shots that killed Taylor were fired in self-defense.

The FBI is still investigating potential violations of federal law in the case.
