Breonna Taylor Protesters Arrested in Louisville

Several demonstrators were arrested in Louisville, Kentucky, on Thursday night while calling for police to be prosecuted over the shooting of Breonna Taylor.

Protesters defied a nighttime curfew marking the second night of protests following the decision by authorities to indict just one officer – but not on charges directly related to the killing.

Taylor, a Black emergency medical worker, was shot multiple times by white officers in Louisville who entered her home during a narcotics investigation in March.

Officials announced a grand jury’s decision not to indict police officers on criminal charges directly related to Taylor’s death.

State Attorney General Daniel Cameron said the officers’ shots that killed Taylor were fired in self-defense.

The FBI is still investigating potential violations of federal law in the case.
