Best kids’ school desks | CNN Underscored

Since the pandemic began, forcing most school-age children into a virtual learning setup, parents have collectively realized that a) teaching is not their forte, and b) providing kids with a structured, organized environment at home is essential to them learning.

What that’s meant is that parents have had to load up on the kinds of supplies kids usually get at school — crayons, markers, colored pencils, glue sticks, scissors and, of course, an all-important desk. According to Sara Kirsch, general manager of education for Wayfair Professional, search for “kids desk” was up 120% this year compared to 2019. “Student desks have consistently been one of our top-performing searches since March,” she told us.

As a result, with school back in session across the country, kids’ desks aren’t easy to land right now — with many completely out of stock or backordered until next year. Fear not, though, for we scoured the internet to find the best desk options for kids of all ages — from preschool to high school — that are available now. Below are options in every color, material and size you can imagine, starting at just $40. Happy teaching, parents!

Sweet as can be, this desk is perfect for the pink-obsessed kid in your life. We love the ombre paint and the fact that the set comes with two sets of drawer knobs (gold and silver) so you can customize the desk to your preference. Back to those drawers: This desk has a ton of storage! And we love that the line comes with a matching dresser. If Walmart sells out or develops an ultra-long wait, check out the same desk at Wayfair, which costs 22 bucks more.
