North Korea’s Kim Jong Un Holds Coronavirus Meeting

North Korea’s Kim Jong Un held a meeting with his party officials on Tuesday to discuss Covid-19 precautions, coming as it enters its 9th month of an international lockdown.

The meeting of the politburo was reported by the North Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) early Wednesday morning local time, together with 6 still photos on its website of Kim at the meeting, in the ruling Workers’ Party Central Committee building in Pyongyang.

“The meeting pointed out some faults found in preventing the inroads of the malignant virus and had an in-depth study and discussion about the issues on further intensifying the state emergency anti-epidemic work,” KCNA reported.

North Korea is yet to acknowledge a single official case of actual Covid-19 in the country.

Since January the country has kept up very stern warnings against the virus, with limited resources available for hygiene and health care.
