McConnell: ‘Unacceptable’ for Trump Not to Condemn White Supremacists

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said it was “unacceptable” for President Donald Trump not to condemn white supremacist groups during the first presidential debate on Tuesday in Cleveland, Ohio.

McConnell spoke to reporters following the weekly Senate Republican policy luncheon in the Hart Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill on September 30, 2020 in Washington, DC.

Despite talks between Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), McConnell said that Senate Republicans and House Democrats are still far apart on coronavirus relief legislation.
